DIY Map Kit Instructions

Your Kit Contains:

  • Pre-cut unstained baltic birch map pieces
  • Assembly Instructions

Additional Supplies Needed:

  • Wood stain (your choice of color)
  • Super glue or CA glue (for quick bonding)
  • Lint-free cloth for stain application
  • Gloves (to keep hands clean)
  • A ventilated area prepped with newspaper or a drop cloth

Step 1: Staining

  • Wearing gloves, stir the wood stain thoroughly.
  • In order to maintain the cleanest look - gently apply the
stain with a lint-free cloth, using minimal stain over the
whole map and frame, especially on the personalized plaque.
  • Immediately wipe off any excess.
  • Allow the pieces to dry according to the instructions on the stain container.

Step 2: Layout

  • On a protected surface, arrange the map pieces using the
outlines on the base layer as your guide.

Step 3: Assemble Map and Frame

  • Once the stain has dried, apply a small amount of super
glue or CA glue to the back of the top layer pieces.

  • Position each piece to fully cover the outlines on the layer
beneath, pressing firmly for a secure bond.

  • For the frame, apply glue to the back of the frame pieces
and align them with the outer edge of the base layer.

  • Press down on the frame firmly to ensure it is well attached.
Allow the glue to cure fully as per the manufacturer's
    recommendations before moving the map.
